Centro Nueva Creacion/New Creation Community Center - After School Program
GENERAL INFORMATION
Description of Service Aftercare Program provides tutoring, arts and enrichment activities, as well as a rounded, child-centric curriculum that includes poetry, yoga photography, and technology courses. The Program also offers Summer Camp which provides an arts-centric curriculum that includes yoga, photography, poetry, mural painting, gardening and a daily literacy component. These activities are intermingles with more traditional camp offerings such as swimming and team building activities. Fields trips take place at least once a week and are either free or low cost. Along with our programming, campers are provided breakfast, lunch and snack. The Goodlands Community Arts Program began in 2001, it provides students with an opportunity to analyze their surroundings and beautify them. The vision is to use photography as a means of transforming the mediaĆ¢€™s labels for our community from "The Badlands" to "The Goodlands." The project develops the talents of young artists in Fairhill and presents a positive view of the community by energizing local artistic expression. Youth produce and exhibit photos in galleries, universities, street fairs and community arts events around the city.
