Power Up Your Business Peer-based Learning Experience



The Community College of Philadelphia is hosting a free 12 week, 36-hour program to help participants gain practical skills on how to create a business improvement plan. Learn the foundations of small business management and other tools needed for a successful small business.

Eligible businesses are:
  • Located within the City of Philadelphia.
  • In business for at least one year with some sales (sales cannot exceed $1 million)
  • Have one full-time equivalent employee (can include owner or 2 part-timers)
  • Must be an owner, have an ownership stake or be a decision maker in the company
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this program will be held virtually on Wednesdays from 6 PM - 9 PM via Zoom. Once in-person classes can resume, classes will be held at the following locations:

West Regional Center: 1751 Callowhill Street
Wednesday, August 26th to November 11th
Applications due July 31st, 2020

Northeast Regional Center: 12901 Townsend Road (Near Franklin Mills Mall)
Wednesday, January 13th thru Wednesday, April 7th, 2021.
No Class on March 3rd
Applications due December 4th, 2020

South Philadelphia at Constitution Health Plaza: 1930 S. Broad Street
Wednesday, May 5th, thru August 25th, 2021
No Class on May 12th
Applications due April 9th, 2021

Northwest Regional Center: 1300 West Godfrey Avenue (near North Broad and Stenton Avenue)

To apply, simply complete the online application and email the following business verification information to powerup@ccp.edu:

1. Submit one of the following:
a copy of your most recent business tax return
a copy of your most recent Profit and Loss Statement

2. Submit a copy of your City Commercial Activity License (CAL): Applicants who do not have their CAL at time of submission may obtain it prior to the start of the program.

3. Applicant must obtain a support letter (recommendation) from their area CDC, business association, civic association, City council person, or from a small business support organization.
